Woodpecker Lake
The specimen water. Mainly carp, with fish to thirty pounds, and a handful of other species mixed in. Six serviced pitches sit along its bank.
Thorney · Newark · Lincolnshire border
An adults-only touring park and four luxury lodges, set around two fishing lakes. Forty-eight level pitches. Open every day of the year.
The park
Lakeside is over 18s only. That single decision is why people come back — no football on the grass at seven in the morning, no queue for the showers, and a lake you can fish in silence.
Phil and Carol have run it that way from the start. Level pitches with 16amp electric, WiFi across the park, a toilet block refurbished to a standard that surprises people, and woodland to walk the dog in. The café does a proper full English from Thursday to Sunday through the season.
The fishing

The specimen water. Mainly carp, with fish to thirty pounds, and a handful of other species mixed in. Six serviced pitches sit along its bank.

The mixed water, and the busier of the two. Fish to eighteen pounds and far more variety — good for a steady day rather than a waiting game.
One rod on Kingfisher. Two rods, or the specimen lake, cost a little more. Pay before you set up — the full list is on the prices page.
Luxury lodges
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, sleeps four. Open all year, with the lake at the end of the decking.
